On Property Matters this week, host Carol Tallon is joined remotely by John McCartney, Head of Research at Savills and Pat Davitt, CEO of IPAV .
John McCartney was first to join Carol on Property Matters. As Head of Research at Savills, John opens his interview by speaking about the impact the Covid-19 pandemic has had on their business offices in both Ireland and internationally. He also cites some of the lessons that can be learned from their operations in China – staff there have recently returned to work in the offices after an eight week shutdown. He talks about how this may be a good time to start putting all of our practice into use in terms of new technology in the proptech space, but also new applications and websites on our computers that allow us to remain in work mode while sitting at home.
Also joining us on Property Matters this week was Pat Davitt, CEO of IPAV. Pat begins by talking about how IPAV members across Ireland have been dealing with the effects this pandemic has had on all of their respective agencies. Pat also speaks about issues relating to conveyancing, comparing our process to that in the UK, saying that that we must speed up our service, start moving into the next stage of e-conveyancing (which has been promised for almost two decades now!).
