The 2025 finalists showcase remarkable achievements in urban regeneration, with projects like Hamburg’s Green Bunker transforming a WWII-era fortress into a vibrant cultural space, and Copenhagen’s Opera Park breathing new life into the city’s harbor district. In the workplace category, Amsterdam’s Booking.com City Campus and London’s Arbor at Bankside Yards demonstrate how modern offices can prioritise both environmental sustainability and employee wellbeing.
Residential developments featured in this year’s selection, such as Toronto’s Maple House and Copenhagen’s UN17 Village, exemplify a growing trend toward inclusive, community-focused living spaces that incorporate ambitious sustainability goals. The UN17 Village notably stands as the world’s first property development to integrate all 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals into its design and operation.
Among the mega-developments, projects like Entrecampos in Lisbon and Sultan Haitham City in Muscat, Oman, demonstrate how large-scale urban developments can successfully balance economic growth with environmental responsibility and social inclusion. These projects are setting new benchmarks for sustainable urban planning and community integration.
The industrial and logistics category showcases innovative approaches to sustainable construction, with Sweden’s Innovation Project Bålsta leading the way as the world’s largest hemp-insulated building, achieving an impressive 88% reduction in emissions through its pioneering use of bio-based materials.
The awards ceremony will bring together industry leaders, architects, and developers to celebrate these achievements and inspire future innovations in sustainable real estate development. As the real estate industry continues to evolve in response to environmental challenges and changing social needs, these projects represent the cutting edge of sustainable design and development practices.
The winners will be announced during the ceremony at the Grand Auditorium, marking another milestone in MIPIM’s 30-year tradition of recognising excellence in real estate development.
