Canadia marks 30 years with showroom expansion and new home design ranges

Canadia, Ireland’s wood flooring specialist, has marked its 30th year in business with a €300,000 investment in its Tallaght showroom and warehouse, alongside new product launches and team expansion aimed at improving the experience for homeowners and retail customers.

The upgrade has increased the company’s footprint in Cookstown Industrial Estate to 55,000 sq ft, with a redesigned showroom now open to both the public and trade. The space allows customers to view the full flooring range under different lighting conditions, helping them better understand how materials will appear in their own homes.

A dedicated consultation area has also been introduced, where homeowners can meet with flooring specialists, architects or interior designers to select suitable products based on project needs, budget and layout.

The investment comes as Canadia expands its product offering, with more than 300 décor options now available across flooring, stair and wall panel collections. Among the latest additions are 20 new laminate floors, all featuring a 72-hour water resistance rating and AC5 durability, designed to meet the needs of busy households. The range includes both herringbone and plank styles to suit different interior preferences.

The company has also launched new stair renovation systems in both hardwood and laminate finishes. These are designed to match existing flooring, allowing for a consistent finish throughout the home, while offering relatively straightforward installation options.

In response to growing interest in acoustic performance within homes, Canadia has introduced a wall panel range aimed at reducing noise while enhancing interior design. The panels are available in oak, walnut and MDF finishes and are suitable for both residential and commercial settings.

Alongside the physical expansion, the company has made five new hires, bringing total staff numbers to 44. Debbie Farrell has been appointed Business Development Manager, with responsibility for identifying growth opportunities and strengthening partnerships. She has been with the company for over a decade.

For consumers, a key development is the introduction of a structured training programme for Canadia’s 500 retail partners nationwide. The initiative is designed to improve product knowledge among sales teams, with the aim of ensuring more consistent advice and service for customers purchasing flooring through retail outlets.

Managing Director Charlie Hamilton said the investment reflects confidence in the Irish market and a continued focus on quality and innovation. He noted that the expanded showroom is intended to give customers, designers and retailers a more practical and informed way to engage with products before making decisions.

For homeowners, the changes signal increased choice, improved access to expert advice and a more hands-on retail experience when selecting flooring and interior finishes.
